Program Supervisor

Supervise field staff (mentor, brief, debrief, consult on professional development, be willing and able to facilitate difficult situations and staff conflicts, evaluate.) Coordinate course and logistics with program manager and in-town staff. Serve as a liaison for students and conduct student debriefs. Manage challenging and stressful field and in-town situations pertaining to student, parent and staff issues or concerns. Provide support for other base operations (rations, equipment, kitchen, transportation, evacuations, administration). Assist with supervision of part-time help and summer interns. Must be an excellent role model of EB, tolerance for adversity & uncertainty and communication for all staff and students.

Responsibilities
· Supervise courses, students and instructors.
· Manage and coordinate the programmatic duties of Client (quality briefing and debriefing of instructors and students) including curriculum updates and the timely completion of any post-course paperwork.
· Actively guide and mentor other staff in professional development.
· Develop and update program curriculum and paperwork, as needed.
· Assist or coordinate evacuations and duties associated (student supervision, clinic/hospital visits, communications with HQ, and parents, paperwork, finances, etc.)
· Maintain weekly accounts of all receipts and associated finances.
· Be a positive ambassador for Client with students, staff, service providers, and the local community and provide a positive environment that encourages field staff and students to feel relaxed, supported, and focused.
· Perform special projects and duties, as assigned by the program manager.
· Assist with training and supervising of interns and part-time staff as needed.
· Collaborate with the Client in-town team to enhance program and branch operations.
· Drive courses and support course logistics and base operations as needed (issue/de-issue, cooking, rations, etc)
· Contribute to Client publications and social networking about Scandinavia as time permits.
· May be required to act as a fill-in field instructor due to unavailability or injuries of field staff. Must maintain active instructor status.

We are now looking for an experienced Program Supervisor for an assignment with one of our clients to work in a wilderness summer camp in the northern parts of Sweden.

Qualification
The position requires an experienced course leader with a demonstrated knowledge of school-wide philosophy, values and mission. Program Supervisor and hiking & sea kayaking experience is desired. This position demands effective oral and written communication skills in English. Swedish and Norwegian communication skills or a desire to learn are a bonus. An ability to work both independently and closely with a team, problem solve, and work flexible, unpredictable and irregular hours are essential (some weekends and evenings as well as some 24/7 evacuation on-call duty). Other essential skills include: attention to detail, organization, efficiency, creativity, and fiscal/budgetary responsibility. It is beneficial to have general knowledge and understanding of all base operations (evacuation processes and protocols, rations, kitchen, and issue room.) Macintosh OSX and Microsoft Office computer skills are preferred. Must have a driver’s license and be able to drive a stick shift.
